Yes, I know, school has been in session for a week now, but better late than never!
The Pre-Schooler!

The 2nd Grader! It isn’t possible that she is in 2nd grade, is it?

I remember THIS girl. Wasn’t this taken yesterday?

Yes, I’ve officially become that sappy mom who doesn’t know where the time has gone…
Ok, before I totally lose it, I just should mention that school is going great. Bethany came home on the 1st day and said, “Mom, I think I am going to really enjoy this year.” WOW. The girl DOES love school. And my sweet Benny, he’s doing awesome too. Better than I ever imagined. His teacher told me that he has a smile on his face every morning. And they are very impressed with how well he can write his name. She said a lot of the older kids in the class haven’t even tried. Way to go Ben Ben!
Oh and one more of my sweeties together!

P.S. Just a thanks to Kelly who (without knowing it) gave me a kick in the butt to get these school pics posted.

The Carminas joined us for Bethany’s last soccer game and then we all headed to the Barnabas Carnival. Here’s some highlights…
It was HOT…Bethany taking a little rest on defense. Poor kiddo.

And the medal she won for a season well done!

Jonathan and Ben trying to play soccer themselves…but playing by the tree was way more fun.

And now the carnival! Lots of rides and lots of groans from Daddy after paying for them all…

Bethany begged to go on the tilt-a-whirl. Normally I would brave the ride with her, but I was still a little worried about the back. So Uncle Pete was a good sport and went on. She doesn’t look too happy at the moment.

And my favorite picture of the night…walking off into the sunset.

Now, the slow motion replay…

Who says a grown man can’t do syncro swimming???
United States takes the 1-2, Bethany winning silver!

More updates to follow. Just thought I should get something up here since it’s been awhile!

So after pestering Kris for months, ok honestly YEARS, he finally took the wood burning stove out for me. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh, that thing is UGLY!!! (not to mention rusty)

Hey look, the stove is gone!

Boy did we have fun moving that 500+ pound thing out of the living room. I’m still not sure how we did it. And well, it probably wasn’t the smartest move on my part. Now looking back, I’m sure it had something to do with my back going out a few weeks later. Still, Kris was a trooper about the whole thing. We ended up putting it on a dolly and wheeling it onto the deck and out the backyard. To make it lighter, Kris pryd off the top and sides.
Now what to do about that pesky pipe sticking out of the ceiling…not to mention the huge gaping hole it will leave!
TA DA!

Oh boy, that’s a big hole!

And then…drum roll please…

Not bad, eh? The gaping hole is now a spotlight. I actually came up with that idea! Probably my only contribution to this project. I have to give Kris all the credit. He worked really hard on this. Poor guy was up in the crawl space when it was about 100 degrees in there.
So now, my dream… I’d love to BUILD a fireplace facade in the space where the tv is currently residing. This would require some research and of course lots o money. Honestly, I’m very happy how it looks now and EVENTUALLY we’ll get that fireplace.
Thanks Babers. You did great! This will keep me happy for awhile…
I love you.
