More Animals in the Air

So when Ben saw the pictures of Beth’s “Cutes” flying, he asked that I take one of his.  He gave me is absolutely favorite stuffed animal, “Le Woof.”

How could I say no?

Flying Cutes

Every spring,  I get with an instructor to knock the rust off some flying skills that I may not use on a regular basis in an effort to continually improve myself and flight saftey.    This year, for some particular reason, I was very nervous.  Bethany, in an effort to calm my nerves, gave me “cutes” - her white cuddly teddy bear (a la the verizon commercial where the kid hids a bear in daddy’s briefcase and he takes pictures of the bear in various situations).

So, here it is for all the world to see, “Cutes” on his first flight with me.

1st Day!!!

Kris started his new job today!

And much to his dismay, he had to dress up.  Well, the term “dress up” is all relative.  The company’s policy is business casual.  But we all know what Kris prefers to wear, hee hee.

I think he looks GREAT!!!

And this is kind of sad…but the kids were having a really hard time with Daddy going off to work.  They both cried and said “We will miss you Daddy!”  So here’s a pic of their sad little faces:

STUDENT OF THE MONTH!

Yes, that’s right…she did it again!  That would make 3 SOMs in 3 years!!!  YAY BEFFY!  This time she received the award for English/Language Arts (or as they call it ELA).  We’re SO proud of you Beth!

A not so nice birthday present…

So earlier this week, I got into a car accident.   Not to worry, everyone is absolutely fine.  I was driving the kids to school and it was a VERY cold day.  As I approached a stop sign, I hit some black ice and began to slide.  There was a car already stopped ahead of me and I knew I was going to hit it.  So I veered to the right, up a snow bank and hit a tree.  Sigh…

Poor Beth cried.  She didn’t really know what happened.  The good news is that no one was hurt.  The damage looked more like a small vendor bender rather than me hitting a tree.  I think the snow bank really slowed us down further.  However, the guys from the collision shop called back to tell us the damage was close to 5K!  Thank goodness for car insurance.

Well, it’s gonna take awhile to fix so for the time being I have a Chevy Lumina.  It reminds me a lot of Mon and Dad’s old Hyndai Sonata.  And it also reminds me that I don’t like driving cars anymore!  I miss my cutie mini SUV.  But she’s in good hands and hopefully will come back (close to) new.   Figures I get into an accident with my less than 2 year old SUV.  Never-the-less, what’s most important is that no on was hurt.
